Engaging in a Range of Planning

The Teaching Quality Standard of Alberta states that “teachers engage in a range of planning activities.  The plans are founded in their understanding of contextual variables and are a record of their decisions on what teaching and learning strategies to apply.

I believe that I have met this standard by demonstrating the following:

  • Continually develop, modify and evaluate lesson, units and year plans in my classes.
  • Present scaffolded material and concepts to students in an effort to sequentially develop their understanding of the science objectives and outcomes.
  • Strive to maintain consistent and clear communication of student achievement of learning objectives and outcomes to all students and parents.
